Lyrics

I make it through the day in my own way
I do what I have to do
Sometimes it's a struggle, sometimes a treat
Sometimes it's all brand new
But nothin' real spectacular
Presents itself to me
It seems like things never fall into place
I never win the lottery

But when nighttime falls
When instinct calls
When I find myself facing the witching hour
That's when the spirits arise and the portal opens wide
When two worlds become one
When dark deeds are done
When the innocent succumb to sacrifice
The righteous and brave must face The Great Divide

The daylight drives the foul dark things
Back into their holes
As tasks at hand consume the time
We resume our standard roles
I live my life by necessity
Call it a daily grind
Pleasure comes from what seems mundane
In the simple things I find

Darkness defines what I may see
And evil brings on tragedy
The other side becomes all too real
The stench of decay and the screams that won't subside
Ethereal forms that fill the sky
The helpless souls' eternal cry
I commit myself to this daunting task
As once again I cross The Great Divide

Everything I've lived for
Everything I've known
Now comes to fruition
I reap the seeds I've sown
I've tried to find the way
I've tried to know what's right
I've seen across The Great Divide
I'll stay here in the light
